What does a border camera actually show?

A camera image can be useful, but it does not always show the entire queue.

How should you choose an alternative border crossing?

Don't look only at minutes: opening hours, detours and the queue location also matter.

Transparent community information

Not an official promise. Real traveller experience.

Border conditions can change quickly. BorderWatcher helps you see several recent signals in one place instead of relying blindly on a single estimate.

What makes a report reliable? →
01

Reports are submitted by travellers on the road. If there is no traveller report in a given hour, the app can also show official border-police data.

02

The community can flag inaccurate or suspicious reports.

03

Camera images and the map complement, but do not replace, reports from the road.

Frequently asked questions

What you should know before departure.

BorderWatcher shows community information. The actual speed of border control can change at any time.

How accurate are the waiting times?

Accuracy depends on the number and quality of recent reports. Always check the report time, other posts, the camera and the map as well.

What does the '~' sign mean next to a waiting time?

The app allows travellers to submit an estimated waiting time based on the observed speed of the queue. This is useful during 3–4 hour waits, when a report posted only after crossing would arrive too late for others.

Does the app show official border information?

If no traveller report was submitted in a given hour, the app may show waiting times published by official border-police websites. These values are for information only.

Why doesn't a camera show everything?

A camera often shows only one checkpoint or a short road section. A queue between two border stations may not be visible in the image.

When should I check BorderWatcher?

Definitely before travelling, but it is also worth checking again on the road because conditions may change by the time you reach the border.

Is it free to use?

The standard version can be used with ads. BorderWatcher Plus offers additional features and ad-free use.
